Amirah Albalawi (b.Saudi Arabia; works in New York) is an analog, lens-based artist.
Drawing from her background in pediatric ICU, her current practice examines medical,
bedside skills, and their loss after leaving the field. Through photograms and long-
exposure pinhole photographs, she attempts to surface what exists beneath the visible.
Grounded in themes of remembrance, stored knowledge and skills, visualizing the
unseen, her work is an homage to early alternative photographic processes.
